Jacob "Jack" Johnson
1993-2025

Jack’s Journey was created in loving memory of our friend, Jack Johnson, whose short life left a lasting and profound impression on all who knew him.

Jack was first diagnosed with Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in 2011. After losing his mother to the same disease in 2012, Jack came to understand that every day is a privilege—and he chose to live each one fully and intentionally.

With a bright and energetic spirit, Jack had a rare gift for finding beauty in both grand adventures and quiet, everyday moments. He formed genuine connections wherever he went, creating friendships that lasted a lifetime. Jack had a way of making people feel important, seen, and understood. This gift transcended cultures and languages—he was truly a friend of the world.

Motivated by a desire to make the world a better place, Jack studied Environmental Sciences at St. Francis Xavier University. His studies focused on addressing climate change through the detection, capture, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. After earning both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees, Jack built a respected career in the field of methane management.

In October 2025, while travelling in Barcelona, Spain, Jack suffered a sudden aneurysm caused by Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. His life was tragically cut short at just 32 years old.

Jack’s Journey is not just a tribute to his life, but a continuation of it—created to ensure Jack’s love for people, the world, and his devotion to positive change continue to be felt for years to come.
